Browne to Honor Military Children on Purple Up! Day

Browne is proud to be a Virginia Distinguished Purple Star School for our commitment to and support for military families. On April 15, Browne will celebrate Purple Up! Day, recognizing and supporting the military children in our community. To honor them, the school will not be having not a dress-down day, but a purple-up day! Our students, faculty, and staff will wear as much purple as possible!

A few facts about Purple Up! Day:
-US military troops, their families, and extended families are more than the sum of their parts. Families are a lifeline for their parent in military service (especially overseas)
-The entire month of April is designated as the Month of the Military Child
-The 15th is Purple Up! Day to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices
-The color purple was chosen as a combination of the individual branch colors (Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue)
We look to celebrating our military children!
