Browne Student Wins DAR Essay Contest

Browne 7th grader David recently won an essay contest sponsored by the Anna Maria Fitzhugh Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. DAR representatives visited Browne to present David with the DAR American History Bronze Medal and a winner’s certificate. His essay will now move on to compete against the winners from other DAR chapters.

All of Browne's 7th graders participated in the contest, titled “The Voyage of the Mayflower.” Students were asked to imagine being a passenger on the Mayflower in 1620, and to consider what they would take to prepare for the voyage and a new life in the wilderness. Congratulations to David and his classmates for their outstanding work!
