Application Process & Important Dates

Browne Academy is still accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Applying to Browne

Below you will find an outline of the steps required for applying. All applications are to be completed by February 1. Any applications received after that date will be considered on a rolling-basis. We look forward to getting to know you and your child as you navigate the admission process and encourage you to contact the Admission Office if you have any questions along the way.

Application Process

  • 1. Online Inquiry Form Submission

    Submit an online inquiry form. This is not required if you plan to submit an application to the school immediately.
  • 2. Visit Campus

    Schedule a campus tour with our Admission Office at 571-451-1006 or email us at admission@browneacademy.org. Families may also choose to attend an Open House by registering for one of the following dates:
  • 3. Online Application

    Fill out the online application and submit the $75 application fee.
  • 4. Schedule a Visit/Play Date

    Schedule a student visit/play date with the Admission Office. Students will visit in their current grade.
  • 5. Submit all Supporting Materials

    • One recommendation from primary classroom teacher (Kindergarten applicants)
    • One recommendation from primary classroom teacher and transcripts from previous schools (Grade 1 – 5 applicants)
    • Two recommendations, one from an English teacher and one from a Math teacher, and transcripts from previous schools (Grade 6 – 8 applicants)
  • 6. Submit Required Testing

    • Gesell Developmental Observation (Preschool 4 applicants)
      • Browne Academy staff will administer the Gesell Developmental Observation during the student play date at no additional charge.
    • WPPSI (Kindergarten applicants)*
    • WISC-IV or WISC-V (Grade 1 – 5 applicants)*
    • SSAT or ISEE (Grade 6 – 8 applicants)
      • Register at www.ssat.org for the SSAT with the school code 1901.
      • Register at www.erblearn.org for the ISEE with the school code 472614.
  • 7. Optional: Financial Aid Applications

    Optional: Financial aid applications will be available on November 1. If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please read the information the Tuition & Financial Assistance page about affording a Browne Academy education before filling out the application. Financial aid applications must be completed by mid-February. The financial aid application fee is $35.

*Educational Testing Information (WPPSI, WISC-IV or WISC-V) should be mailed or faxed directly from the tester to the Admission Office by February 17.

Additional Requirements for Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten

All students enrolled in Preschool must be toilet trained before the start of school in September. 

Browne Academy has specific age requirements for applicants to Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten. Students must turn 3 (Preschool), 4 (Junior Kindergarten), or 5 (Kindergarten) by September 30 of the year they plan to enroll.

Application Deadline

Browne Academy is accepting applications for the 2020-2021 school year. Admission applications are due by February 1, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis, depending upon available openings after the application deadline. 

Financial Aid

Financial Aid applications will be available online early in November. All tax returns and W2s for last tax season are to be submitted along with your financial aid application. Current year tax returns and W2s are to be completed by February 13.
