Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Program

Browne Summer Camp is very excited to offer a tremendous Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Program! This program is offered to rising 9th and 10th graders to begin the training necessary to be a responsible and compassionate counselor at Browne Summer Camp. An Assistant Staff Program is also available to rising 10th and 11th graders that have, at the determination of the Camp Administration, successfully completed at least one summer in the C.I.T. Program and meet other criteria.

The C.I.T. Program will encompass many areas: from assisting counselors with their groups to organizing events throughout the camp. They will work on improving their verbal and written communication skills, learning how to deal with camp situations and develop their leadership skills.

Anyone interested should contact Kara Schutter, the C.I.T Program Coordinator, at (703) 628-4911 to get more information and request an application. Candidates will be interviewed by the Camp Administration and Mrs. Schutter.

Please understand that while the ultimate goal of the C.I.T. Program is to train potential future Staff Members, admittance into the program does not guarantee future employment with Browne Summer Camp.

*Candidates that gain acceptance into the C.I.T. Program will get an opportunity to swim daily (weather permitting). C.I.T. participants will also receive a discounted rate for camp fees. Assistant Staff participants are not charged camp fees.
