After Camp Excursions (A.C.E.)
Don’t want camp to end? It doesn’t have to! Browne Summer Camp’s A.C.E. Program is offered to rising 3rd through 8th graders for two weeks between the end of camp and the start of school (August 11 – 15 and August 18 – 22). The program is designed to keep your child busy learning, discovering, and exploring through field trip packed days to locations in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Campers will leave from camp at 8:00 am and will be back for pick-up at 5:00 pm. Mrs. Donna Kendall and Mrs. Kim Hodge are excited to direct and accompany the A.C.E. children on each and every field trip for these two weeks!
This summer we have two FANTASTIC weeks scheduled! Our excursions will take us from Virginia into Washington D.C. as well as some exciting sites in Maryland. Some of the points of interest in past years have been: The George Mason Memorial, the Hillwood Museum (Mary Weather Post House), the Pierce Mill Picnic Grove (for our picnic lunch), the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial, and the Korean Memorial. All of this was done in just ONE day! On another day we went to the WWII Memorial, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the American Immigrants Law Foundation, the African American Civil War Memorial (for our picnic lunch), The National Museum of Natural History, and The Lincoln Memorial. Yes, that was also done in just one day!
Never a dull moment, keeping every mind and imagination occupied, making this program a perfect transition from summer to the new school year.
