This is a special year in the life of Browne Academy, as we celebrate our 75th anniversary. Our school began as the first integrated preschool in Northern Virginia; today we continue to value and celebrate the diversity of our strong community, the exceptional quality of our teachers and academic program, and the success of our graduates. However, we do not rest on our laurels: We understand the power and significance of always looking forward and always working to provide the very best learning opportunities for our students.
In fall 2014, Browne Academy’s Board of Trustees contracted with Dick Jung of Education Access Strategies (EAS) to facilitate our new strategic plan. Before solidifying our priorities, we engaged our entire community in the process. In February 2015, EAS conducted a parent and staff survey that helped inform the Board and Administrative Team as we contemplated the strategic priorities and goals. In April 2015, the Administrative Team and Board held a retreat where they shared and discussed their vision for the school. These discussions led to the development of an updated mission statement and a set of strategic priorities that will guide the school into the future.
We are confident our new roadmap will enhance our impact as an exceptional school, while maintaining our longstanding commitment to our core values of Excellence, Diversity, Character, and Community. Thank you to all our stakeholders who were instrumental in crafting this exciting new path for Browne Academy. Let the journey begin!
