Substitute Teachers 

Browne Academy is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic substitute teachers who love working with children in preschool through 8th grade. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and experience teaching and/or working with children. Assistant Preschool Teacher

Browne Academy is a co-educational school specializing in students 3 years old through 8th grade and located in Alexandria, Virginia. We are seeking full-time Assistant Preschool Teachers for the 2017-2018 school year. Assistant teachers are responsible for supporting the academic, social, emotional and developmental growth of our students. In addition, responsibilities include assisting with the planning and implementation of the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher. Assistant teachers are expected to teach whole group, small group, and individual students.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and experience supporting and implementing age appropriate curriculum and educational activities. He/she should demonstrate the comfortable use of technology in teaching and learning, and be fully committed to professional growth. We are looking for someone who believes in the mission and core values of the school while engaging as an active participant in the community. Other qualities include a caring demeanor, flexibility and a strong work ethic. This is a great opportunity to work in a partnership with an experienced teacher to build one’s pedagogical skills as part of our dynamic Lower School team. The ability to collaborate and work closely with the lead teacher is essential.

After-Care Counselor

We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified applicants to join our Auxiliary Services Department in the After-Care Program. The ideal applicant is someone who enjoys working with children, ages 3-13 years of age. Applicants should excel in supervision, activity planning, and reliability. The core schedule is Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00 PM, and this position is paid based on experience and qualifications.
