Affording a Browne Education
Our Business Office works closely with families to help them budget for tuition and fees. The School’s payment schedule allow various payment options. Tuition may be paid in full by July or divided into two equal payments to be paid on July 15 and December 15. We also offer a 10 payment plan through the Smart Tuition program, which requires payment from July to April. Families have three options for paying their tuition and fees with Smart Tuition:
- Send in with mailed invoice
- Automatic payment from credit or debit card (convenience fee of 2.85% will be assessed)
- Automatic debit from and checking or savings account
If you have additional questions about paying your tuition or fees, please see the FAQs or contact Christina Pereira Nye at 703-960-3000 x1000 or by email at cnye@browneacademy.
Browne Academy provides need-based financial assistance to qualifying families to help offset the cost of attending the school. Awards are made for the academic year, and all families must reapply for financial assistance each year. We make admission decisions independently of financial assistance decisions; a family’s financial situation is not included in the criteria upon which individual students are evaluated for admission.
Browne Academy is committed to enrolling a diverse student body and honors differences of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status. Browne Academy strives to provide financial aid grants to all qualified families with demonstrated need. In some cases, however, a qualified applicant may be offered admission along with a space in our financial aid wait-pool. Grants are awarded to students in the financial aid wait-pool if funds become available during the spring. Approximately 30% of our families receive some form of financial aid and financial aid awards can range from 5% to 50% of the cost of tuition. At the preschool and junior kindergarten levels, finanical aid is extremely limited and no guarantees can be made that financial aid will be awarded even if a family demostrates need.
We use the online service Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) to process all financial aid applications. FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service, which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information from FAST is kept confidential and results are available only to the Financial Aid Committee.
