The Browne Academy Experience prepares individual students to succeed by empowering them with a strong academic foundation and a curiosity for lifelong learning.

A t Browne Academy, we believe in the uniqueness of each student and the nurturing of individual talents within a truly supportive environment. Each day at Browne is a day of discovery for children and for teachers alike as they pursue excellence together.

When a child enrolls at Browne, the entire family becomes part of a vibrant school which has been built on a proud tradition of excellence, diversity, character and community. A dynamic place for outstanding independent education, you will find a campus that is alive with the sounds of the excitement of learning, the joy of friendship, and the whisper of nature from our woods and creek.

From our exuberant preschoolers through our confident eighth graders, our girls and boys thrive on the Browne experience of a challenging curriculum, dedicated teachers, a safe and child-centered setting, and a permeating spirit of belonging to a special group of young scholars.

Our commitment to excellence continues beyond the classroom as Browne's students enjoy a full complement of field trips, sports and games, music, visual and performing arts, and extracurricular activities. Budding artists and athletes find the guidance and encouragement that inspires dreams.

The 2012-2013 school year is an important milestone in our history. We have recently celebrated our 70th anniversary. The legacy of our founder, Marion Browne, continues in our commitment to the individual child.

I invite you to share our values and our spirit. Come and visit us and see what a school can be.

Sincerely,

Margot N. Durkin
Head of School

  • Writer's Workshop

On Saturday, April 6, a group of student authors attended a writing workshop with local author Jamey Long as part of a sign-up party offered at the March Madness Auction. Students learned about Mr. Long's journey to become an author, the process of writing a story and created their own masterpieces by the end of the session. It was a wonderful morning of creativity and learning. Due to the generosity of the Holbrook family, twenty eight of Mr. Long's books are now available in the Browne Library for your enjoyment.
